Designing a board game

In groups, we had to come up with some ideas for a board game about a current event. My group initially came up with an idea for a game based on cryptocurrencies where the players would have to effectively play the stock markets and play with investing in different cryptocurrencies as well as buying new computer hardware to mine for cryptocurrency.

We developed this game to a point, with a mock up board design and a basic rule set. We then had group session where we listed a few other game ideas and we came up with an idea that we all liked: Managing a police force!

The idea of this game would be to manage a police force and send officers to the appropriate crisis which face the police force. We thought that this was appropriate as a current event as (especially in England) there is always stories in the news about police cuts and working conditions of officers.
